The design stage typically involves migrating the information defined in the design brief and creating a visual representation of the site. Appropriate consideration will be given to logos and colours to maximise the identity of your business on the internet. Throughout the process we will send you visual mock-ups to view, this will provide you with the opportunity to express any feedback.
Timely communication is essential during this part of the process to ensure that the final design satisfies your requirements.
The development stage is where your site is made functional. We start by taking the visual representation of your site and converting this to HTML (the language for websites). Elements such as Content Management Systems (Silverstripe) or Ecommerce Shopping Carts (Interspire), contact forms and flash animations are implemented. Finally, your content and images are added to the respective pages of the site.
We will upload a copy of your website for your viewing, so that you can see the progress being made and suggest any additional minor changes that you would like.
At this stage of the process we thoroughly test the website for compliance, errors and bugs. We will check that all of the code written is compliant with the current web development standards (W3C compliance). We test thoroughly for compatibility issues (viewing differences between various web browsers), ensuring that your website is optimised in the most common browsers.
Once approved, we will then transfer your site from our development servers to your live domain.
Your website is finished and on the internet, what next? In order to maximise the return on your investment, it is important to update your website with new content or products on a regular basis and review traffic statistics to drive more visitors to your site.
Customers have the option to modify their website through our Content Management System. Alternatively, we can make changes on your behalf when you need modifications.
